The chosen location was not random, but deeply connected with the artistic, narrative and communicative idea of the festival. The death of jazz is celebrated in the former Cemetery of San Pietro in Vincoli, a space that combines charm, beauty and functionality. The live part, combined with the clubbing dimension, enhance a location of great importance, within which the public has lived experiences of discovery in a climate of total serenity, community, mutual respect and space that is nothing short of exceptional for an evening and night-time event of this magnitude. The Cemetery of San Pietro in Vincoli remained active for less than a century: from its opening at the end of the 18th century until the construction of the Monumental Cemetery in 1829. It later became the cemetery of the executed until 1854 and was then definitively closed in 1882. A century later, in 1988, San Pietro in Vincoli experienced a new life, becoming a space for culture, music and theater after a major renovation.
